ORIGINAL REVIEW: 7 September 2004 |
Quite a nice place since it's most recent rebrand as a trendy town bar - recently re-painted and well kept. A nice lot of sofas scattered around makes it a good place for lounging around during the day. (Get your feet off the sofa Stevie!) In the evening they stick the music on loud in usual shiny shoes town centre bar style - and they even have a little DJ booth thing. Pleasant enough really. G.
Right, first of all I think we went to different places on this one. Quite a nice place! It still seems a bit run down to me and I don't think they went over the budget when they decorated. I have also seen some pole dancing in here that would make the most concrete of constitutions do a triple salko back flip thingy so I am pretty sure I can never enjoy this place again (yes Jody, if you ever read this that was you). And my feet, although you can't see in the picture, were not on the sofa but on the table.
For me this place is a bit anonymous and it doesn't do anything that would bring me back unless it was for a quick one after work and one of the sofa's was free for some loungin'. S.
I haven't been mentally scarred in the same way as you by the Jody experience, which might be why the place seemed that bit better to me. Although, by your description I can't help but feel a little intrigued... G.

"Since they got rid of the manger and put in the new one and changed the door team - what a place to go. Good place to go to in the evenings at the weekends. Top pub."
