If you like beer and football you'll like this pub. Well, I say that, but I like beer and football yet I'm not over keen on this pub so that might actually be a lie.
It's not really great on beer as detailed above so that's not a winner. But it has football in abundance. Lots of screens around the place and a big one for everyone to gather round. It was UEFA Cup Thursday when we were there and the footie was it really for what was going on. It was on so loud that if you didn't want to watch it you wouldn't want to be there.
The place itself is pretty big with a pool table and some sofa's on a raised level. But they've got the sofa's all wrong. They are spread around the edge of the pool table so it's not the best layout for chilling out with some mates and relaxing in the comfy sofa as everyone will be spread around and you will only be able to speak to the person sitting on the same sofa as you.
The rest of the pub is pretty basic with pretty rough wood floors and general seating and wooden chairs. It's most defo a Student boys pub so if that's you bag, head here. S.|
Yep, the sofas were a bit strange, although it made for a good area to play pool. The rest of the pub felt quite open and arranged to take advantage of the big screen footy. As well as the sport slogans all over the walls, there's plenty about having to be over 18 and not doing drugs on the premises - I guess it's a popular hang-out for college attendees. A touch scruffy but a reasonable pub all round. The most exciting thing was the vibrating floor from the ceiling fans - wouldn't be good if you were several pints down the road though! G.
Pedigree hey, Nothing else for the beer drinker on the go so this was the tipple. A sulphorous smelling beer and not my favourite so I didn't mind the fact it was only the one. S.|
I guess Pedigree is always sulphur smelling - so at least it as being served as it should be? Not like the one I had in the Pitcher and Piano which was even more eggy than this one. G.
