ORIGINAL REVIEW:

We were in here to watch the England v Switzerland game so reviewing the pub is not too easy but I can say that I enjoyed being able to watch the trains pulling into and leaving the station, very novel for a pub! Generally, it's just a pub really, nothing special but it's good to note it has quite a long bar! and of course, it’s very conveniently placed if you need to get a train (or bus for that matter) home. S.
P.S. note the excellent hanging baskets in pic.1. Nice. S.
England 3 Switzerland 0! And Rooney won me 32 pound and fifty pence for the first goal. Nice! Good selection of proper beers, big screen for the footy, handy location and a decent bit of seating outside that gets the evening sun. Bar staff were a friendly enough bunch doing a good job too. Decent enough all round pub with pretty flowers on the outside for the girls. Sweet. G.

BEER EXPERIENCE

I say, that Gales Festival is as dark an ale as you could get, but not too shabby though. Good beers on offer so definitely worth a visit if you like a nice ale. S.
Quite enjoyed both beers even with a remainder of a hangover. Must have been good. G.
Having been back here again I should point out this pub scores pretty high because of the beer. There's always an excellent selection of changing real ales from all over the UK - and it's a big bar with prompt bar staff. A great place to do some proper beer drinking. G.

"Used to use this boozer quite a bit before moving back to Glasgow. It was far beter after the bar was moved to the back and if i was still living in Reading I would certainly still be using the place."

"A good one. Much improved since they moved the bar back and increased the ale choice. The Gales Festival is superb, as is the Brakspears when they're on. This would be my pre-footy pub if the veggie food choice improved"
