ORIGINAL REVIEW:

Looks big from the outside, but on the inside it's a small pub. A Tardis in reverse. They don't like pigeons here either - look at that photo!! All the seating is in one area in front of the bar, with several typical pub style tables there's only room for a few fruit machines and an impressive digital jukebox. You've got to admire this pub for painting the walls bright pink all over. The whole place is recently done up and was in fine condition - somehow pulling the pink and redness off, so to speak. They manage to attract a decent sized crowd for a week night too. There was a wide mix of people in the pub but the pubs real negative point was the offensive local at the bar. I'll assume he was drunk in his defence. I liked this pub but this visit would have been so much better with a friendly welcome. If you're in the area head to the Woodley Arms for a place to relax in... G.
Quite right matey. If I can express a personal opinion here as well it would be that it is the pub I have felt the most uncomfortable in on the entire mission. And that is saying something! One guy gave us some verbal as we walked back from the bar so we both took the non combative approach of ignoring him and hoping he would get bored with abusing us. Luckily this worked but I had my back to him the whole time and I just couldn't relax. One of the guys he was with though came over and asked for a light and seemed more than friendly so as G said, it was probably just a drink thing. Shame really, as everything else about the pub was possibly just a nibble above some of the more average locals we have been to. Vibrant decor, though it wasn't 'shocking pink' on he walls it was definitely pink (brave but nor foolhardy), a few olde style photo's around the place and a pretty good jukebox. I think the bar maid was a bit grumpy the night we were there which was as a shame as well. S.
Noboby likes pigeon pooh though do they! Do they?

BEER EXPERIENCE

Glad I had the Bombardier, which was a decent pint. I hadn't seen that dark mild stuff before as far as I remember but it didn't seem that good to me. Not much else to write home about. G.
Or write anywhere else for that matter. The Dark Mild was pretty pants (I'm, not talking sexy lingerie you understand, I just mean it was a bit bland) as far as I'm concerned, but I'm only expressing a personal opinion. S.

VISITOR FEEDBACK [Give Your Feedback]

"I would give 10 for staff at the bar as they are great, friendly and really doing their best for this place to start look normal. The indoor however is below 6, smells badly and if you are not sitting next to the bar you will probably not feel very comfortable. 8 for parties organisation. General 8 - fully recommended."

"I think its a nice, friendly pub - both the locals and the staff are most welcoming. I've been in there on my own and didn't feel uncomfortable at all, infact I went in for a pint and ended up staying for about 3 hours chatting to the landlord and a punter at the bar. Its clean, not dingy like some other pubs in the area. There was a real mix of customers - ages and nationalities. I think you guys just happened to pick the wrong moment."

"This pub is not as bad as you make it out to be, on the weekend its full of locals and students. Yes the walls are pink but the locals are friendly and chatty. on the nights we have a disco on its packed and they may be no dancefloor but its a great night out, friendly and happy. Any one passing should come in and try it."
