Now re-opened as Dogma it's much, much better than before. Very nicely done out in cream and brown and all very posh. Great big monster sized sofas. Good food and drink menu. G.|

A bit like a smarter version of a Wetherspoon's chain pub - but well behind on the beer. It had a slightly more upmarket feel than a Wetherspoon's and doesn't attract all the old geezers that hang around by the bar in one of those - but there's still cheap grub and beer options available. Actually much nicer than I thought it was going to be - clean, bright and breezy - and opposite the pie shop. I imagine it has a much different atmposhere on a busy weekend evening though. G.|
I thought he was going to mention the pie shop as he did stop there after. Indeed, smart Wetherspoon's it was I reckon but as G said, no match on the beer or old codger front so if you want either of these go to a wether's. Nice enough place, not sure if it has been recently refurbed but it did seem well looked after and considering what monkey business goes on in here at the weekend I was a little surprised. Think you should have scored it higher than 3 G, but I guess you know your own mind. I know no-one else does! S.
I like the number 3. If you look at it on it's side it looks a bit like a girls bottom. G.
Good selection! Three beers (Greene King IPA, London Pride, Brakspear Bitter), and a whole stack of lagers. I don't think it was very cheap though. Not the best pint you'll get in town but better than most of Reading's chain style pubs. G.|
The following applies to the Litten Tree:
We obviously came at the wrong time. They had two or three beers usually available but they were "cleaning the pipes out". One of the them was Bombardier, which I imagine would have been nice. So the beer experience on this occasion was poor but that might not always be the case. The Tetley's was drinkable but a bit like drinking beer flavoured melted ice cream. A pint of cardon dioxide and nitrogen with a little bit of something that might once have been beer. Not sure what the fascination with this type of beer actually is - although I think I may have floated home. G.
Yeah, right you are then! Strange boy! Beer off, probably would have been best to have gone for a larger I reckon but the Tetley's did the job. He's right though, this, John Smith's and other creamy or frothy beers just do not seem right. Taste a bit fake as well. Can't work out why they have them really. S.
"If you want the worst service, even if you get served then go here! terrible!
I would be ashamed if I were the manager."|

"The ales are normally in poor condition and squeezed through silly Northern sparklers, don't go here for a pint you'll be sorely disappointed."
