My very own very local. A good 8 iron from my house. Actually I think in the light of day you could probably reach my front garden (such as it is) with a good 9 iron with the wind behind. Not that I can call it a local really as I never go there. Not sure why really as it is a pretty good pub and it was quiz night on the evening we were there. Everyone seemed very friendly and it had a nice and pleasant atmosphere. It has a pool table and darts board so it scores on games facilities as well.
If you were likening it to anywhere I would say it similar in style to the 'Spread' but that as has recently been 'made posh' you need to add 5-10 years wear and tear on to it and you get the 'Royal'.
No doubt I will actually go here again. S.|
You should certainly go here more often Stevie since it's a good local pub right on your door-step. It did seem a welcoming atmosphere in here somehow - how different to the Pheasant earlier in the night?! It's a good size pub, wrapped around a fair sized bar, and the big screen would make it ideal for watching the footy. G.
Range of Greene King beers - although I don't remember spotting Abbot coming to think of it? Not sure on the full selection. I wasn't paying enough attention as the bar area was crammed with pub quizers. I don't think the Ruddles was cask though was it? Any confirmation Stevie? G.|
None whatsoever, though the Ruddles was ok. S.
