I'd not been in here before and this was the sixth pub of the night - therefore the memory of the place is not great. It was certainly a decent enough pub, we had a sofa so that's got to be good. I liked the beer taps for the lagers - frozen over in layers of ice. Very snazzy. The bloke behind the bar was a very friendly chap too. G.
I know this place well so my score may be tainted. This is a very well kept pub only just out of town and offers everything you would need. i.e. beer and a sofa. As well as a pool table and a golf game machine. Abused by the Pru staff this place is a regular for many and you can see why. The seating on the small terrace area is a pretty good place to be when the sun is out as well (some might say it's something to do with the girls walking passed but I couldn't possibly comment). A mention has to go to Pauline for being a fixture of the pub and I can even remember her rom my days working in Yate's nearly ten years ago when she used to come in for a pint of cider topped with ice! A great barmaid though and knows what all the regular guys drink. S

Greene King pub - so they had Abbot, IPA and the current seasonal brew Suffolk Summer. I've already drunk plenty of this beer in the Spread Eagle - tasty enough and as it wont be around much longer seemed a good choice. G.
Not too bad a beer slection and the usual lagers are all represented as well. S.

VISITOR FEEDBACK [Give Your Feedback]

"This pub is everything you could want in a drinking place. Friendly happy staff who are genuinely pleased to see and even remember you. Friendly locals who are as chatty as you want to be. Great selection of drinks, cracking food and a great atmosphere for sports. We will be returning for the 4th year in a row during the Reading festival in August!!"
