Due to its location its a locals pub, but on our visit that meant only a handful of other people. It's a reasonable sized pub so it felt a bit on the quiet side. There's a saloon bar with pool and darts and a larger public bar which is really the place for lounging around with traditional pub stools and tables. There's the usual pub stuff - projector screen for the big games, a few tellys and a jukebox. Apart from the lack of real ale, everything else seemed to be covered off and the whole place was in good condition. The bar was very smart with some good carpet going up it and the wooden ceiling looked recently varnished. Service was good with beer it its rightful branded glass - a nice touch. So although there was nothing to set this pub aside from others it wasn't bad at all. G.
Blimey, I thought I was reviewing a different pub for a mo then. I'm glad I read your review or I would have been a bit harsh on this place. The carpet up the bars is always a nice touch and it matched the carpet on the chairs and stools. The varnished ceiling was also nice though not quite up to the quality of the ceiling in the Woodley Arms. The bar area had more of a bar look and vibe to it rather than a pub. It had darkened reflective tiles behind the bar and it gave it a slightly nightclubby look without a night club feel. Nice big pub as G said and it was very quite in the side we were in but it didn't feel to dead and the barman was really friendly. The whole thing was reasonably well done and better than some of these pubs we have been to so generally good stuff. The correct branded beers glasses are always good to see and they had the full set of them for the round we ordered as well. S.

No real ales - but a wide selection of the standard brands. All the common big names were here - John Smiths, Carling, Stella, Kronenbourg, Guinness, Strongbow... G.
A couple of premium lagers is just above the basic entry level when running a bar so although it had all bases covered it didn't exeactly shine. And no real ales for a pub is a bit of a shame. S.
